Christmas Party 2018 – Report

We held our second annual Christmas Party on December 24th at Tsukiminosato. This year’s event was much bigger than last year’s! We had 2 parties filled with more than 20 kids in each party! It was a very lively event with so many kids wearing cute Santa costumes! We’re so happy to see Muna continue to grow!

We put together this video which highlights what we did at the Christmas parties!

🎄 Christmas Lesson

The kids practiced common Christmas words based on a Christmas song called “Decorate The Christmas Tree” (to the tune of “Deck The Halls”). We were happy to hear that many kids already knew many of these Christmas words. We were able to enjoy the song and the video together. This was the perfect song to lead up to and play during our Christmas tree decorating activity.

🎄 Decorating the Christmas Tree

We decorated a big 210cm tall Christmas tree together. Kids put on 3 ornaments each: a ball, a ribbon, and a candy cane. Then with their parents’ help using the English words “up” and “down”, parents lifted the kids up to place the ornaments on the taller parts of the tree. It was very cute to see parents lift up their kids, and even cuter to see some kids lift up their younger siblings!

⛄️ I’m A Little Snowman

We sang a second song, “I’m a Little Snowman”. Kids practiced saying parts of the face and clothing accessories. The vocabulary in this song would be used during the following gingerbread man decorating activity.

⛄️ Decorating Gingerbread Men

Our plan was to have all of the kids decorate gingerbread men with icing sugar and chocolates as a group activity. Unfortunately due to many sicknesses going around this season (we also got sick ourselves), we decided it would be safer for the kids to take the gingerbread men and the ingredients to decorate them back to their homes. The kids still got to see a demonstration of how to decorate a gingerbread man.

🎅🏻 Santa Time

Towards the end of the party, Santa came to visit the kids! Santa brought presents with toys and personalized handwritten cards with workbook activities for each of the kids! All of the messages were written in English, and we hope that the kids would be encouraged to want to understand the meaning of the messages written in the cards. Did you know that Santa also likes Rubik’s cubes? We hope that the kids like them, too!

Finally at the end of the party, the kids collected candy canes from the Christmas tree to take home with them. Some of the kids started eating them right away!

We had a wonderful memorable Christmas Eve by enjoying the time together with everyone. Thank you very much everyone for coming to our party!

Muna Kids English Circle has grown so much over this past year, and we will continue to work hard to make it enjoyable for everyone!

🎄 Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year! 🎅🏻
