Muna Kids English Circle

For the fourth Muna Kids English Circle of 2018 Winter, we played a new card game called “SET“. Kids practiced useful English while exercising their brains and having fun.

Card game “SET”

SET is a multi award-winning game where players are challenged to recognize a pattern between 3 cards. SET builds cognitive, logical and spatial reasoning skills as well as visual perception skills while playing a game. Players must use both left brain and right brain thought processes while playing the game which helps to exercise the brain. Furthermore, we had the kids describe in English to their parents what makes their 3 cards a set by describing similar and different features among the cards. For the Kindergarten lesson, we added TPR to the game to add extra fun for the kids!

Parent Discussion Time

We talked about the importance of exercising the left and right parts of the brain and how it helps children develop intuitive and creative skills. These skills are underdeveloped in school, and Muna believes it’s important to develop these skills. We also explained how parents can ask their kids to describe similar and different things to them in other situations. We hope that this lesson was a good educational experience for both the kids and the parents.
