We held our first Easter Party at Tsukiminosato on April 1st. So many members came out, so we had to have two parties: once in the morning and again in the afternoon.

For most of the kids and parents it was their first Easter experience. We enjoyed many activities in the colourful classroom which gave people excitement and surprise again and again. In this party we heard many surprised voices from not only the kids but also from the parents. Both kids and parents really enjoyed the party!

🐣 Easter Song and Colour Lesson

At first kids practiced words for an Easter song. Most of the words were common for the kids and many kids said the English words with clear and loud voices. The song was a little bit long, but it had many repeating lyrics and the kids clapped to it, so they enjoyed it and sang well.

After singing the song, the kids learned about colours and which primary colours to mix to make the secondary colours. Some of the kids already knew this, so it was good review for them for the upcoming Egg dying activity.

🐣 Egg Dying

We dyed real hard boiled eggs with food colouring. Kids learned how to mix colours from Nam in English. After that kids and their parents made their original colours like orange, green, or purple by using red, yellow, and blue dye while using English. The kids’ and parents’ interest increased a lot by seeing the change of mixed colours in their clear cups and the result of their eggs changing colour. We dyed the eggs not only once, but twice to get a marble effect.

Muna English science lesson which is a hands-on-experience with English was a success!

🐣 Egg Hunting

Kids were challenged to take on a scavenger hunt to find 5 different kinds of Easter eggs hidden all around the classroom. We hid a total of 200 eggs! (It was hard work to hide all of them…) We thought the kids would find the eggs too quickly and easily, however everyone including the parents worked hard to find their 5 eggs. While the faster finishers enjoyed colouring the eggs they found in their workbooks, we put so much effort to remember where we hid the eggs to help the slower finishers find the last few eggs! 😂 We were so glad that all the kids could find all the eggs to complete their baskets.

We believe the kids could enjoy the foreign chocolates and candies hidden in the eggs, as well as the dinosaur toy eggs and our Easter workbooks.

🐣 Egg Counting

Kids guessed how many candy eggs were in a big plastic eggshell and wrote their numbers on small papers. For our final activity we opened up the plastic eggshell and counted the candy eggs together in English. Everybody was so serious to get the prize! As the count kept going up, we could hear some sighs from the kids… In the end, no one guessed the exact number, but the kid who guessed the closest number won the whole big egg as a prize!

Once again, thanks to the help of the parents, we could give the kids a wonderful experience for their first Easter memory. Thank you very much for coming to our party!

As this Easter party is the start of our Spring 2018 Muna Kids English Circle lessons, Muna will grow even more! Don’t miss our activities for this season ☆

🐣 Have a Happy Easter! 🐰
