Muna Kids English Circle
We held our first outdoor Muna Kids English Circle for Summer 2018 on July 8th. Luckily the weather turned out to be perfect, so we were able to enjoy physical activities outside!
Over Under
At first we played “Over Under” where kids and parents raced to pass a ball over their heads and under their legs. We gave the parents a very large ball which they had to pass under their legs! It was a close competition, but the kids in both the Elementary and Kindergarten classes won 2-1! 😉
Red Light, Green Light
This game is similar to the Japanese game “Daruma-san ga Koronda”, except it’s more simplified. The red light and green light represent a traffic light for stop and go. Kids raced to the front without being caught moving when a red light was called. Some of the kids were surprisingly super fast!
Red Rover
This game is similar to the Japanese game “Hana Ichimon Me”, where one team tries to get a member from the other team. In this version, however, the person called must run to the other side and try to break the chain to go back to their team. If they are caught, they must join the other team. In the Elementary Class, we played a rock-scissor-paper version (similar to the Japanese version), however in the Kindergarten Class we played the proper Western version of the game.
Freeze Tag
For our final activity we played a very active “Freeze Tag” game (“Kori Onigoko” in Japanese). Parents and kids played together. We played boys vs girls and switched afterwards. In the Kindergarten Class, the girls’ team actually won by freezing all of the boys! Great job!
